Anatole

I had the pleasure of reading the Caldecott Honor book Anatole. The beautiful story follows a father mouse who wishes to contribute to the business world of Paris by doing what he does best, taste test cheese. The Ratatouille-like adventure is visually brought to life by the watercolor and ink illustrations of Paul Galdone. The majority of the pages are done in grayscale, with just a few pages popping out with vibrant reds and blue washes. The color scheme helps create the beautiful atmosphere of Paris and helps inspire us to dream the ultimate dream, that of running off to Paris to become the Vice President in charge of Cheese Tasting!
